Adult Financial Assistance

Adult Medical Assistance

Adult Protection
A program designed to intervene with or on behalf of at-risk adults to correct or alleviate situations in which actual or imminent danger of abuse, neglect, or exploitation exists and to utilize support systems to provide continuing safety from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Child Protection
A program to prevent or remedy neglect or abuse of children unable to protect their own interests, and to preserve, rehabilitate and reunite families as appropriate. Everyone in the community plays a role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Child Support Enforcement
Established by federal and state law to locate non-custodial parents and to obtain from them financial support for their children. Services include: location of non-custodial parents and their assets, establishing paternity, establishing child support and medical support orders, enforcing child support orders and collecting child support payments, plus enforcing medical support orders. Child Welfare Core Services
A set of mandated services provided to children at imminent risk of out-of-home placement and their families. For more information, call us at 970-878-9640.

Colorado Works
Provides financial assistance to eligible families and offers job preparation and supportive services. This program is available for a lifetime benefit maximum of 60 months. Food Stamps
To alleviate hunger and malnutrition, a food stamp program permits low-income households to obtain a more nutritious diet by increasing food purchasing power. Foster Home Certification
Provide a temporary home to a child who cannot live with their family because of abuse or neglect or severe family conflict. Foster parents become part of the treatment team working with the child and their family to alleviate the reasons for out-of-home placement and help reunite the family. Long Term Care
Long Term Care is a Medicaid program which includes nursing facility care and Home and Community Based services where medical providers come into the home to render the necessary services to keep a disabled individual from being institutionalized in a nursing facility or hospital. Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
This program is designed to assist with utility bills during the winter months. The program runs from November through April each year. For an application, call us at 970-878-9640, or for more information about the program, see http://www.cdhs.state.co.us/leap/.

White River Roundup
A senior nutrition program designed to provide nutritious meals and social support to seniors aged 60 and over. There are two congregate senior meal sites in Rio Blanco County, the Chuckwagon in Meeker and the Radino Center in Rangely. For persons who are at least 60 years of age the suggested donation amount is $2.50, although no one will be turned away for inability to donate. For those under 60, meals prices are $7.00, or $3.50 for children under age 12. For more information, call us at 970-878-9650.

Youth in Conflict
Services to adolescents or pre-adolescents in conflict at school, with family, or in the community, often with contact with law enforcement. Services may be provided to delinquent or pre-delinquent youth to keep them at home in the community. Call us at 970-878-9640 for more information.
